WaveFrame acquired by new WaveFrame Software Group!
May 1, 2002 LONG BEACH, CA - Over the last few months many changes have taken place with the WaveFrame product line which affect its management, and thereby its customers and dealers. We would like to share them with you…
At this time we are happy to announce that the entire WaveFrame digital audio workstation product line, most notably WaveFrame/7, as well as the WaveFrame trademark, have been acquired by a new company, Cybermation, Inc., which will do business as the WaveFrame Software Group (WSG).
Cybermation/WSG is owned by John Schnell and David Hart. Most WaveFrame customers and dealers know one or both of us. Together we have over 25 years experience in product development, management and support on the various WaveFrame platforms. This experience extends all the way back to the late 1980's and the original Cybermation, Inc., in Long Beach, California. Cybermation's DAW product became the basis for its merger with the original WaveFrame, at that time based in Boulder, Colorado. We at WSG are looking forward to continuing our efforts in the development and support of WaveFrame/7, and it is our goal to make the transition from WaveFrame, Inc. to WSG as seamless as possible for users and dealers alike. Since its debut in 2001 WaveFrame/7 has introduced WaveFrame customers, old and new alike, to an exciting new evolution in the rich 15-year history of these products.
To the best of our knowledge WaveFrame, Inc. has essentially ceased operations. Any business or past servicing issues, including any deals that were in progress with or regarding WaveFrame, Inc., should be directed to WaveFrame, Inc. at (510) 594-9455.
Dave Van Hoy, who has been associated with the WaveFrame product line since its earliest days, will continue his association with WaveFrame/7 by serving in an advisory capacity to WSG. In addition, his company, Advanced Systems Group, will continue in its role as one of WSG's flagship dealers.
Effective immediately, all WaveFrame/7 development, sales and support will be directed by WSG through our Southern California offices. Sales will be handled exclusively through our dealer channel. (Please see the Distributors page of our web site for dealer contacts.) Engineering and support will continue as before as we make every effort to ensure the further progress of WaveFrame/7 and its family of products. For more information or assistance, please direct all WaveFrame/7 and legacy WaveFrame 6 calls to David Hart at 760-602-9365. (This is the same number that you have been using for WaveFrame support over the past years.) Please note that pricing, options and support details are being reviewed and updated and will be made available to all our dealers very soon.
Now that WaveFrame/7 has celebrated its first birthday, and is more mature, an official 7.10 release version will be posted shortly. As new features are added, WSG will issue upgrades. Eventually, new releases will be issued on a fee-for-upgrade basis, and a more traditional beta program will be initiated. WSG will also be offering fee-based support for the legacy WaveFrame 6 line of products. Details about this will be published very soon.
Please note that WSG has acquired the WaveFrame product line only, and assumes no liability or responsibility for business, past or in progress, at WaveFrame, Inc. FrameWorks/DX and the Diaquest products that WaveFrame, Inc. was distributing will not be supported or sold through WSG.
The FrameWorks/DX name has been discontinued, but the product will continue as "Pyramix Virtual Studio", sold by Merging Technologies. Please contact Merging (via their website at www.merging.com) or your local Merging dealer for further sales, support and upgrades for your FrameWorks system. You will find a link to them on our Partners page. Customers may also contact Alan Thacker with Merging USA at 847-272-0500.
A new company, Diaquest Products, LLC, has acquired the Diaquest product line and will continue to develop and support these products as before. For further details on Diaquest product sales and support, contact them by phone at 510-547-4544, via email at support@diaquest.com, or visit their website at www.diaquest.com.
Over the past weeks and months it has been the goal of WaveFrame, Inc. and WSG to have as seamless a transition as possible of the WaveFrame/7 product line. We have tried our best to attend to the needs of our customers and dealers given these many, and sometimes trying, changes. We at WSG are excited and hope to continue and grow WaveFrame/7. We look forward to and appreciate your continued support. WaveFrame products have a long history of satisfied and loyal customers. We will do our best to honor this rich lineage and hope to make some new friends as well. Please feel free to contact either one of us with any questions or clarifications.
