TEL: 503-419-3911A Very Brief History of WaveFrame
WaveFrame's rich and colorful history began in 1986 in Boulder Colorado as a system designed for music production. In the early 1990's the Cybermation interface for the WaveFrame platform revolutionized the post production industry with a new system designed especially for the needs of film and television sound editors. WaveFrame moved to Orange County, California where the Cybermation engineering group was located. After several years, the company was acquired briefly by Digital F/X and then by TimeLine Vista, the well-known synchronizer manufacturer in northern San Diego county. TimeLine released the StudioFrame DAW 80 system. In 1996, WaveFrame was acquired by Dave Van Hoy and Kevin Hearst, who continued development of the system through two key upgrades. In early 2000, new equity funding came into WaveFrame, Inc. from software entrepreneur Eckart Wintzen, founder of Ex'tent. The company began working with new strategic partner Merging Technologies to develop the WaveFrame/7 (and FrameWorks/DX) systems. In early 2002, southern California's Cybermation LLC, dba WaveFrame Software Group acquired the acclaimed WaveFrame/7 system and related legacy products. WSG plans to unveil new relationships and products designed to bring the latest WaveFrame technology to more customers.
