Merging Technologies is WaveFrame's Digital Hardware technology partner. The new WaveFrame/7 is based on the Merging Technologies Mykerinos processor board and the Virtual Studio Software Development Kit (VSSDK).

Mykerinos

The Mykerinos board from Merging Technologies is based on the incredible Philips Trimedia processor. This processor uses a technology called Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) to process an amazing amount of 32-bit floating point computations - which means an awesomely powerful digital engine for WaveFrame systems.

Input/Output Options

WaveFrame and Merging Technologies are working together to provide a wide variety of I/O options for WaveFrame/7 systems. Direct connection to ADAT optical, MADI (up to 56 channels on a single optical or coax connector!), TASCAM TDIF, AES/EBU, and a variety of Analog I/O options with up to 96kHz sampling rates are available.

Synchronization

SMPTE Linear TImecode, VITC, Word Clock, and Video Sync are all supported by the New Frame Platform - combine that with WaveFrame's well known expertise in machine control and you have a system that will meet the demands of even the most exacting film and TV post production applications. For more details, see the WaveFrame/7 links on the Products page.
