New WaveFrame/7 Workstation Supports TASCAM MX-2424 Format
April 26, 2001 LAS VEGAS,
NEVADA - WaveFrame Inc. and TASCAM announced at the National Association of
Broadcaster’s convention that the new WaveFrame/7 workstation system supports
import and export of OpenTL files, providing interchange compatibility with
the TASCAM MX-2424 digital disk recorder. The OpenTL format, developed by
TimeLine Vista and TASCAM for use in their MX-2424 digital disk recorder and
MM Series of digital dubbers, is a flexible EDL format that supports use of
Broadcast Wave audio files on PC format disks (FAT-16 and FAT-32) and for
Sound Designer II audio files on Macintosh HFS and HFS+ volumes.
According to WaveFrame President Ron Franklin, “Facilitating project workflow
for our professional clients has always been a top priority for us. WaveFrame
has enjoyed a long history of file compatibility with TASCAM disk recorder
products in the MM Series dubbers and we’re very pleased to support the popular
new MX-2424 disk recorder in our new WaveFrame/7 systems.”
TASCAM International Manager of Product Development Mike McRoberts said “OpenTL
provides a way to easily move projects between compatible workstation and
disk recorder systems. We’re very happy that the continuing cooperation between
WaveFrame and TASCAM will provide a positive benefit for our mutual customers
in the professional audio community.” WaveFrame/7 is shipping and available
for immediate delivery through WaveFrame’s network of dealers and international
distributors.
