Echo Sound Invests in WaveFrame Upgrades
Emeryville, CA (April, 2000): WaveFrame has announced the sale of a major system upgrade package to Echo Sound. The Emmy award-winning facility in Burbank, California has upgraded 18 existing WaveFrame workstations to the latest hardware and software versions. Echo Sound is part of the Pacifica Media Affiliates group of post production companies which includes Larson Sound, Digital Sound Works, Hollywood Recording Services and Weddington Sound. The refurbished units now incorporate Pentium II 450 processors, 408-Plus and R-8 Plus capabilities, and the latest V6.5 software. The WaveFrame systems are installed in Echo's post production editing suites, and handle a full range of assignments, including dialogue editorial, ADR, Foley and effects.
"We upgraded our WaveFrames because they have been a tremendous creative tool for us," said Michael Graham, President of Echo Sound. "We work on a lot of television and film projects here at Echo and we've found the WaveFrame system features to be ideal for our needs. The new upgrades already have provided a great advantage for our editors who are utilizing the WaveFrame on over 320 hours of television dialogue editing this year alone. Basically, there aren't enough good things to say about WaveFrame."
Some of the first episodic TV shows completed on the upgraded WaveFrames include Jag, Touched by An Angel, and Secret Agent Man. Echo has also used the WaveFrames to provide sound services for many recent made for TV movies and mini-series. This year Echo received 9 Golden Reel nominations, including The Hunley, Purgatory, Shake, Rattle and Roll, Tom Clancy's Net Force and Atomic Train, all of which utilized WaveFrame technology. "This upgrade represents a major re-commitment on behalf of Echo Sound," says Ron Franklin, President of WaveFrame. "We're pleased to be working with them and their talented editorial staff to support Echo Sound's ongoing reliance on WaveFrame technology."
